First Snow 2008

Today was the first day of some snow that actually stuck around - not for long, but for awhile. The driveway and roads are clear, but slightly slushy, while the grass has a nice dusting of white. Somewhat pretty.

I love snow. The cold. Winter. This is my time of year.

Perhaps I am misinformed or suffer from a lack of proper education on the subject... but you are a PIRATE, good sir. Pirates live a life of seaward locations rather than as a promoter of Arctic conditions.

Coconuts, rum, beaches, sun-tanned wenches, bar fights, and hijacking ships... these are foundations of a pirate's life. Snow? Hardly appropriate.

I'm an arctic pirate, through and through. Glaciers, penguins, frost-burnt wenches, snowball fights...that's the life for me.

Beaches? Beaches are for tourists and saps. You want a hard life? Try fighting polar bears for penguin meat on an ice cap!

It's a lot harder to get the woolen layered clothes off a frost-burnt wench than a bikini of a sun-tanned wench... or so I hear.

Anything worth having is worth a little hardship.
